PLEASE READ: This shroud will only work with the Ridgid oscillating sander model R4840.The metal stop bracket must be removed to use the dust shroud.
The shroud locks into the top of the sander using the existing threaded hole and star knob used for the metal stop bracket. The shroud is threaded and accepts both 4 inch and 2 1/2 inch dust port adapters. Both adapters are included. These ports are meant to be used with either 4 inch or 2 1/2 inch flex hose. In most cases, standard shop vac hoses will not fit without making your own customized adapter to attach to the 2.5 inch dust port.
The shroud is most effective when used with the oscillating belt sander. The shroud allows little room to work when using the spindle sander features, and therefore may need to be removed. Please make certain that your sander matches the model number R4840, and ask questions before ordering.
